The wood is determining like no other material the quality of the finished instrument. Appearance and sound characteristics of the instrument are also strongly determined by wood combinations. At the Warwick Custom Shop, infinite possibilities are available! To give you the choice to choose what you are looking for, we propose an extensive palette of wood that would allow you to design your own individual, unique instrument. Here you can see the wood variants for the fingerboard of the instrument available in the Framus Custom Shop.

Frets Every Warwick bass is built with either 21 (Star Bass II), 24 (Bolt-on/Neck-through) or 26 frets (Thumb NT, Dolphin Pro I, Vampyre NT). We proudly use bell brass as fret material for its amazing resonance. Warwick uses jumbo size frets to fit to the modern musician's need.

The cut, in which the fret is inserted by a high-precision fret-machine, exactly follows
the fingerboard-diameter, so that no hollow space occurs underneath the fret.
Fretless-Options Standard:
There are no fret-markers on the fingerboard. At the edge of the fingerboard the frets are marked with dot inlays at the 3rd, 5th, 7th, 9th, 12th, 15th, 17th, 19th, 21st, und 24th fret. The 12th and 24th fret are each marked with 2 dots.
Fretless with lines:
Frets are demarcated by acrylic inlays that run flush across the width of the fingerboard. The dot inlays on the edge of the fingerboard sit between the frets, as they do on fretted basses.
Fretless with short Lines:
Frets are demarcated by acrylic inlays that run flush across ¼ of fingerboard. The 12th and 24th frets also have a mark on the lower side of the fingerboard. The dot inlays on the edge of the fingerboard sit between the frets, as they do for fretted basses.
