Natural Oil Finish With the introduction of the Natural Oil finish decades ago, Warwick was already ahead of the times. If there is a particular surface treatment in the history of instrument-making that can be associated with a specific manufacturer, then it's the Natural Oil finish with Warwick! Upon application, this oil finish, which consists exclusively of natural substances, protects the wood from dust and moisture.
At the same time, it lets the wood breathe, which, with its silky warm character, has a positive effect on the sound of the instrument. Moreover, the natural beauty of the wood is not just visually preserved, but also preserved with regard to touch and feel. The musician can feel almost every grain detail in the wood of the body, while on the back of the neck, this silky finish offers up quite an agreeable character for pleasant handling. Furthermore, a bass that's been treated with natural oil - simply put - smells good! Thus, it gives its owner a downright sensual experience, addressing equally the senses of vision, touch, and smell in an entirely positive way!
Coloured Oil Finish Ash There are many varieties of taste, and we have always been happy to accommodate that fact in, for example, the developing of our Coloured Oil finishes. Behind this name lies a protective coating derived from water-based polyurethane varnish, which we carefully and very thinly apply so as not to affect the sound of the instrument in any way. With this method, we're able to satisfy all imaginable - and even unimaginable - color tastes, while still maintaining the look and feel of the grain. For that reason, many think of this finishing method as a variation on our Natural Oil finish

Natural High Polish For those who prefer the combination of a high gloss and a natural look, we offer our Natural Stain. Here the wood is visible in all its beauty, whereas the finish ensures that aesthetic charm stays preserved over the long haul.
Stain High Polish Ash Should you desire both wood grain to be visible through a high gloss finish and your favorite bass to shine brilliantly in your favorite colour as well, we recommend our Coloured Stain finish. This kind of wood treatment works best with lighter-toned wood varieties, such as oak, and we offer not fewer than ten different colors in our standard repertoire

Solid High Polish In fact, colour is viewed as a crucial element by not just a few bass players. Our Solid High Polish finish pays full heed to this perspective, because full coverage means preferred colour becomes a central point of interest. Besides that, it provides the wood with optimal protection against pressure, dents and moisture. Our standard repertoire offers eleven different colours choices, which certainly ought to be enough to suit most tastes.

Chrome The Warwick company generally won't assume any liability for Chrome finishes. Potential paint flaws will be automatically accepted by the customer when ordering such an instrument. For Chrome finishes, the body wood is covered with a very thin metal layer.
However, due to the physical properties inherent in this combination there is only a limited possibility to durably combine metal and wood. Sporadic lacquer inclusions, minimal scratches as well as invisible contaminations which lead to paint flaws cannot be avoided. Hence, instruments with such a finish need special treatment. More of that here...
More information
1. Never use etching detergents, abrasive polishes or polishing paste, nor chemicals or solvents for reflective resp. Chrome-plated surfaces. Please, use only a soft, moist cloth for cleaning.
2. If affixing applications such as stickers, do not remove them forcibly or by heat after gluing, since this could cause the de-lamination of the Chrome layer.
3. Heating up to more than 50°C could cause discolouration or chipping of the Chrome layer.
4. Handling with rings, watches and screw drivers or other sharp-edged parts can damage the lacquer surface.
