Jimmy Jay is bassist and founding member of the brand-new Swedish metal band "H.E.A.T.".
Born in 1986, he became musically aware of the band Kiss at the age of 7 and at 9 he started playing the guitar. He became a Metallica fan already at 11 and according to him he could play all the Metallica riffs on the guitar by the time he was 13. He later studied music on a more serious level, as he puts it, and then also switched to the bass. He had his first performance in 1996 in Upplands Väsby, close to Stockholm, Sweden.
Meanwhile he also acquired a lot of knowledge about audio technology, but didn't actually use it yet. When asked about his current influences, he says that with him it's not only about the music, but also the development of his personality. But if he had to name specific people, he would mention Mike Porcaro, Kip Winger and Rocco Prestia, among others.
An important step in Jimmy's career was joining the band Trading Fate in 1997.
In the meantime he played in 2005 with Honey Rider, and in 2007 the merging of the bands Trading Fate and Dream created the new band H.E.A.T., which he currently considers his top priority. The debut album's release is slated for the beginning of 2008.
