Mario Pagliarulo, aka "SuperMario," plays bass for System of a Down singer Serj Tankian.

Born in Italy in 1977, Mario 's first important musical influence came directly from his family: his father was a professional drummer. He first started playing bass when he was 17. "Friends of mine had a band and needed a bassist," he recalls. "I already had a basic knowledge of guitar chords, so it was very easy for me to pick up a bass and start playing." His first public performance was with a cover band in Naples, Italy. Within two years, when he was 19, he quit his studies to become a professional musician. One of his first gigs was a tour with the famous Italian singer Gianni Fiorellino. In 2001 he moved to the United States and now lives in North Hollywood, California. He's currently playing with the following bands/artists: Serj Tankian (System Of A Down), Jewel In The Lotus, Sovory, Audra Hart, Chasing Saints and The Petal Stones.

Mario says he chose Warwick because "it is one of the few bass guitars capable of the versatility that I require."
